What to expect on my first appointment?
Questions will be asked about your presenting symptoms and any relevant medical history/medication. Careful observation of your pulses on both wrists and your tongue is noted before selecting your points. Other questions may be asked about energy levels, sleep etc. Massage in some cases may be used prior to acupuncture. Please wear loose fitted clothing which can be moved around easily.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your condition but initially 3 treatments is usually required to get the best results. After that further treatments may be suggested. Sometimes a monthly treatment is beneficial once the symptoms have cleared.
Are the needles used more than once?
No, they are used once then disposed of.
Will it hurt and how many needles do you use?
No , there might be a slight sensation of numbness or tingling on some and you should have a feeling of relaxation a few seconds later. You will have to try it to believe it !
Can I drive after my treatment?
Yes you are fine to drive although it is good not to plan anything too demanding for a few hours after treatment.
